Yes, it is necessary to start the engine immediately after cleaning and turn the blower to the highest setting with the air conditioning off to allow the evaporator to dry for about ten minutes.
Can I just let the dirty cleaning fluid run onto the floor?
No, before starting the cleaning process, a suitable container (e.g. drip pan) should be placed under the vehicle’s condensation drain. Then spray the cleaning liquid through the evaporator for about 10 seconds and then check whether the liquid drains to the outside via the condensation drain. If this is not the case, stop cleaning the evaporator and clean the drain hose until the cleaning liquid drains.
How long does an evaporator cleaning take on average?
Scientific studies have shown that an air conditioning evaporator cleaning with the AC Cleaning system should take 45 minutes. Depending on the qualification of the user and the design of the air conditioning system, the cleaning time can be much shorter.
Can other pressure cup guns be used for cleaning, e.g. pressure cup guns for DPF cleaning or for painting?
No, to avoid confusion, we recommend the exclusive use of the approved pressure cup gun with the original probes for the application. Also, do not use any other cleaning fluids in the pressure cup gun.
Can the probe be straightened again after repeated use?
Yes, the probe can be straightened again using a vice, for example.
How long does the cleaning effect last?
It is recommended to clean the air conditioning evaporator every time you change the pollen filter. Independent studies show that a complete air conditioning cleaning is recommended every year.
Can the AC Cleaner with gun also be used for cleaning the pollen filter housing?
No, because there is a risk of getting too far into the vehicle interior with the probe and contaminating it with the cleaner.
What are the different options for cleaning the pollen filter box?
There are two effective options for cleaning the pollen filter box in accordance with VDI guideline 6032:

The 998 Hygiene Cleaner Pollen Filter Box Tool ensures thorough chemical-mechanical cleaning of the pollen filter environment. The cloth is optimally moistened using a special foam technology, which ensures effective cleaning. After cleaning, the new pollen filter is also inserted here.
- Both methods aim to achieve intensive, state-of-the-art cleaning of the pollen filter box and thus improve the air quality in the vehicle interior in the long term.

To use the 998 Hygiene Cleaner Pollen Filter Box tool effectively, please follow these steps:
- Preparation: Place the pollen filter box tool on a firm surface.
- Attaching the cloth: Pull the pollen filter box cloth evenly over the tool. Place the openings at the lower end of the cloth over the hooks on the pollen filter box tool to prevent the cloth from slipping.
- Shaking the cleaner: Shake the 998 Hygiene Cleaner well for 15 to 20 seconds before use.
- Using the cleaner: Hold the pollen filter box tool with the cloth pointing vertically downwards and insert the 998 can. Press the cartridge fully in with your thumb to release the cleaning foam. The specially developed cleaning foam takes effect immediately.
- Cleaning the pollen filter environment: Quickly insert the 998 Hygiene Cleaner Pollen Filter Box Tool into the pollen filter environment and wipe it out evenly. Microorganisms such as harmful bacteria, pollen, invisible germs and fungi are optimally removed.
